Serve these simple, crispy, garlicky toasts with any steamed shellfish dish to soak up the wonderful juices.
- Twelve ½-inches slices Italian bread
- Extra virgin olive oil
- 2 large garlic cloves, peeled
Heat the oven to 375 degrees F. Arrange the bread slices in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake them until very lightly golden brown, about 10 minutes. Brush one side of the toasts with olive oil, and then rub them with the garlic clove— once or twice for a mild garlic flavor, more times for a more assertive flavor. Serve at room temperature.
