Farro is one of the oldest grains and I urge you to try it, especially if you are not familiar with it you will come to love it. An ancient form of wheat (also called emmer), faro cooks like pearl barley or rice, with no soaking. It has a wonderful nutty flavor and is quite nutritious. Since it is now sold in many specialty markets and easily ordered online, it is easy to procure and it stores well and I hope it becomes a staple in your pantry.
