This is a healthy and delicious thirst quencher.

As the summer begins, I look for thirst-quenching natural drinks. Water is always a good choice, but if you want an extra kick, try some good old fashioned lemonade, with an Italian twist, of course. I like my lemonade with all the pulp of the lemon squeezed in, served in a tall glass, half full of ice. Not too sweet for me—just a touch of sugar. I top it off with a few leaves of either basil or mint from my garden, add a long straw, and drink up! As a child, lemons were not readily available in the summer, so my grandmother would substitute wine vinegar instead of the lemon juice—the rest of the recipe stayed the same. This is a healthy and delicious thirst quencher.
