Granita is the Italian version of sorbet.
Granita is nothing more than a flavored liquid sweetened with sugar and frozen until crystallized. It is granular in texture, easy to make and quite refreshing after a good meal.Italians prefer fruit or a granita after a meal, rather than a complex dessert. Granita can be made of any deliciously ripe fruit. It can be made in advance, or even the day before; if you find that it has solidified too much, just drop it into the blender and make a great slush, to which you can add some Prosecco or Vodka. That will turn it into a great, feisty ending to a meal or to be enjoyed as a refreshing aperitif.
