The Tuscan Sun Festival

This annual music and arts festival brings well-known musicians and artists to the picturesque town of Cortona (in Tuscany) for nine days of music, art, wine, and food. Starting the first week in August, this celebration includes art exhibitions, cooking demonstrations, locally made products, and, of course, a wide range of Tuscan wines. The Festival del Sole (as it’s called in Italian) would make a unique addition to any travel itinerary; it serves up Italian culture on a silver platter, giving festival goers a little taste of everything in addition to real cultural immersion.
