Rosticceria: Italian Fast Food

This might sound like a contradiction in terms, but rosticcerie (plural of rosticceria) are common in Italy. In these shops you can pick up simple, hot, ready-to-go meals like vegetables and roasted meats. Here you will find a whole roasted chicken, sliced steak sliders, and arancini (fried rice balls), croquettes (potato fritters), and verdure miste (mixed greens) as popular sides. Whether you want to eat in or take it home, the rosticceria is Italy’s answer to fast food.
