An appropriate subsitute for speck

Several of my recipes call for speck, a cured ham much like prosciutto. If you can’t find speck at your local grocer or specialty store, you can substitute it with either thick-cut bacon or fatty prosciutto from the end of the leg. It won’t be exactly the same, but it is very similar and you’re bound to get excellent results.
