Bruschetta all'Aglio cookbook: Lidia's Italian Table
serves: makes 12 toasts
Serve these simple, crispy, garlicky toasts with any steamed shellfish dish to soak up the wonderful juices.
12 slices Italian bread, 1/2-inches slices
extra-virgin olive oil
2 large garlic cloves, peeled
Heat the oven to 375 degrees. Arrange the bread slices in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake them until very lightly golden brown, about 10 minutes. Brush one side of the toasts with olive oil, and then rub them with the garlic clove- once or twice for a mild garlic flavor, more times for a more assertive flavor. Serve at room temperature.
